About Eastern Blades Hockey Club

1949-Now

Eastern Blades Hockey Club is a social based club catering for all ages and skill levels.

Our club was originally known as Bassendean Hockey Club, founded in 1949 by Mr Stan Goodwin, Mr Vic Read, Mr Noel Sturgeon, Mr Bob Becker & Mr Ross Dunstan.

It wasn't until 1973 that we gained our iconic colours of red, gold & black. But we had to wait until 1994 before we became Eastern Blades Hockey Club.

Club Policies

At Eastern Blades, we put a strong emphasis on all members doing their part for the club and the wider hockey community. As a sport, from players to parents, to umpires and other officials, all people involved have a need for mutual respect and responsible behaviour, both on the field and off of it.

Towards that goal, we have a Code of Conduct outlined for both Junior and Senior members, which also incorporates guidelines for parents and members representing the club off the field. This is to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy being a part of the sport, and is shown the respect they deserve.
